Alex Galchenyuk Signs with Arizona Coyotes

Seven-Year Veteran Forward Joins Coyotes on One-Year Deal

Galchenyuk Brings Offense, Versatility to Arizona

The Arizona Coyotes have signed forward Alex Galchenyuk to a one-year, $775,000 contract, the team announced Thursday.

Galchenyuk, 27, spent the past two seasons with the Ottawa Senators. In 108 games with Ottawa, he recorded 34 points (13 goals, 21 assists). He also played for the Montreal Canadiens and Pittsburgh Penguins earlier in his career.

Galchenyuk is a skilled offensive player who can play center or wing. He has good speed, agility, and a strong shot. He is also a good passer and has a knack for creating scoring chances for his teammates.

The Coyotes are hoping that Galchenyuk can provide some much-needed offense to a team that struggled to score last season. Arizona finished 29th in the NHL in goals per game (2.67) in 2021-22.

Galchenyuk is a low-risk, high-reward signing for the Coyotes. He is a proven NHL player who is still only 27 years old. If he can stay healthy and produce at a similar level to what he has in the past, he could be a valuable addition to the Arizona lineup.
