Nassaji, however, showed resilience and equalized in the 65th minute. Mehdi Torabi found space on the left flank and delivered a pinpoint cross for Mohammad Reza Khalatbari to head home. The Iranian side's joy was short-lived as Al-Hilal regained the lead just five minutes later.
Odion Ighalo, who had come on as a substitute, made an immediate impact. The Nigerian striker received a pass from Luciano Vietto and unleashed a powerful shot that flew into the top corner of the net. Nassaji Mazandaran pushed for an equalizer in the closing stages but couldn't break down the Al-Hilal defense.
With this victory, Al-Hilal Riyadh moved to the top of Group A with nine points from three matches. Nassaji Mazandaran remains in third place with one point. The two teams will face off again on December 18 in the reverse fixture at the Azadi Stadium in Tehran, Iran.
